Get Well Frank!

CCCA President, Frank Paneno, slipped while feeding from the pick up and broke his leg in two places.  Frank was just about all mended from knee replacement and ready to get back to cutting.  Cards can be sent to: 2098 Valle Vista Place San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Wow, way to go Janet Westfall, NCHA World Championship Futurity Non Pro Reserve Champion and Kathy Hauenstein, NCHA World Championship Futurity Amateur Reserve Champion. We'll be watching for CD Royal and Swinging Miss Gin at the aged events. You go girls!

PCCHA Futurity: Scott Weis and Danzey Treanor's Mataguay followed up their win at El Cid by winning the PCCHA Futurity. Jim McNulty and Hug Me Sally put on a great show and won the Non Pro Reserve Championship.  The great Gelding Champion of Las Vegas was turned over by Ron Gonsalves to Tim Smith and they won the PCCHA Gelding Stakes Championship.  You trained a great horse Ron!  Stephanie Larrabee and CD Bingo earned the Non Pro Gelding Stakes Reserve Championship to top off their Las Vegas Non Pro Futurity Gelding Stakes Championship. Bob Sinclair again had great success showing A Ginuwine Jazz in the Non Pro Cutting Stakes. Good thing he had his championship trailer from Reno to haul home all the cash.

 

PCCHA Derby-Classic/Challenge  Results: Our central coast cutters made a strong showing at Reno.  In the Open Derby, Finalists included Temesun shown by Joe Suiter, Stinko De Mayo shown by Gary Gonsalves, and Shorty Lou Lena shown by Russ WestfallLil Sourthern Grace shown by Gary Gonsalves and Smart Like Dusty shown by Russ Westfall were Open Classic/Challenge Finalists.  Kathy Hauenstein and Bobs Freckles were Finalist in the NonPro Classic/Challenge. A special congratulations to Bob Sinclair, the $50,000 Amateur Champion on A Ginuwine Jazz and the proud owner of a new trophy trailer!

Have you heard?????- Nikki Bentz and A Starlight Express win the Super Stakes Non Pro Classic.

Las Vegas Successes:  Gary Gonsolves was on a roll at Las Vegas, making the Open 4-year-old finals on Sue Hurst's Stinko De Mayo while both Gary and Mike Rawister were in the 5/6 year-old Open and NonPro finals on Maxwell Smart. Debbie Hall was a finalist in the 4-year-old NonPro on Sissys Playgirl.  Not to be out done by the north county, Stephanie Larabee was a NonPro finalist in the 4-year-old on A Little Too Smart and a NonPro finalist in the 5/6-year-old on Anniversary Acre. Also, Terry Larrabee made the 7-and-Up finals on Sanjo Snippy.  Congratulations to everyone!

The Bonanza: Past CCCA President, Brad Vaughn, was a finalist in the 4-year-old Open at The Bonanza.  Way to go Brad!

Winter Round Up Wrap Up:  We would like to say congratulations to Russ Westfall for making the finals in the Open Derby.  Also, congratulations to Chris Greg for her finals showing in the $10,000 Amateur.

 

News from the Club

The new ranch horse class made it's debut at the June 10th cutting at Tommy Shelly's. With 10 entries, everyone had a great time without the worry of leaving your hand down!

The Board of Directors held their first meeting on Monday, February 7th.  There are a few changes for the upcoming year.  Please note the new class schedule.  The club will be awarding 3 saddles at the end of the 2000 show season. The first to the highest money earner of any one of the following two classes:  OPEN or $10,000 NOVICE.  The second saddle will be offered at the end of the 2000 season the the highest money earner of the NON PRO class.  The third saddle will be awarded at the end of the show season to the highest money earner of the $20,000 NON PRO class.
